There Is No Off-Season for Livestock Exhibitors

Friday Night Lights, College Gameday and Monday Night Football are back in action, which means a large majority of America is throwin' back wings and wearing their team’s colors. (I prefer the orange checkerboard, but that’s beside the point)

While athletes surely don’t just forego all of their usual diet and exercise programs in the off-season, they certainly have more time to relax and go on vacations; something that people in the livestock industry don’t necessarily have the luxury of doing.

When you have livestock, every day counts. Each day brings you just that much closer to your next show, your next deadline, or your end goal. Therefore, every day counts and every day is crucial to your success in the show ring. There are no “bye-weeks” or days off. Even if you don’t have a show for another few weeks, you know that the time in between shows is where champions are made.

“Champions aren’t made at the backdrop; they are simply recognized there.”

Livestock exhibitors know the work doesn’t begin and end at the show. It is day in, day out, simple repetition and attention to detail that set the champions apart.

365 days a year, around the clock. That is how champions are made.
