You Won't Believe How This Grant Was Used
The Kentucky FFA Foundation announced a novel idea providing up to $1,000 through a competitive grant to state FFA chapters. This grant focuses on the service learning aspect of the FFA educational spectrum, and more specifically uses this thought process to help end hunger.
Crittenden County FFA was awarded the grant in June and rightly so. Students applied for the grant planning with plans to use the funds to renovate an old school bus into a mobile greenhouse. The results speak for themselves. Students plan to donate all produce to the local food bank and their school cafeteria. Additionally, the bus will travel to various elementary schools serving as an educational tool to teach youth about agriculture.
