Keeping the “I Can. We Will” Attitude
"I Can. We Will.” These four simple words have been echoed through every event at the 90th National FFA Convention and Expo.
I can guarantee each of the 67,006 members and guests who attended are still on that ‘convention high’ filled with inspiration and motivation from the four-day convention.
Although, as we return home and settle back into our everyday routine, how can we keep the “I Can. We Will” attitude alive in our lives? It is easy to take what we learn and let it fade away but for continued growth and transformation we must keep this attitude close to our hearts.
Implement the lessons learned into our daily lives. This could be an encouraging word a national officer shared during their retiring address or a skill gained by attending a workshop. Adding these lessons in our lives can make a positive difference – one day at a time.
Maintain connections gained at convention. Use the new friends you gained or networking with business professionals to be your accountability partners to hold you accountable to reaching your goals.
Follow your dreams. Did you sit in Banker’s Life Fieldhouse wishing you could be on the big stage one day or maybe you heard a new idea you would like to implement into your very own chapter? From someone who experiences the same exact feelings, I used those goals that I dreamed up during National Convention to be my fuel to success.
Individually I can, but TOGETHER we will. We have been encouraged in multiple ways to maintain this attitude as FFA members, friends and mentors. Maybe it is writing “I Can. We Will” on a card and hanging it on your wall or making it the wallpaper on your computer. No matter what you do to remind yourself, always remember that we can accomplish anything we want to as FFA members. We are a part of the strongest and most empowering student led organization – make the most of your opportunity to wear the blue jacket!
Together, as the National FFA Organization, we will make this world a better place through our leadership, service and dedication to the agriculture industry. Don’t let your flame stop burning, use the 90th National FFA Convention and Expo to propel your passion and light others passions around you.
