A Day In the Life of a Rancher
A rancher almost always wakes up before his alarm clock. He pours himself a cup of black coffee that will sit half full on the counter until he gets home late in the night. His pants are covered in yesterday's work and his hat shows the years. He whistles out into the sagebrush and a old swayback roan appears, ready to clock in for the day. The rowels of his spurs make music as he throws a well-worn saddle up on that horse. His cowdog is ready to do his job. They take off to push cattle to water. He grins at the creek of leather beneath him as he gives the roan a nudge and for a stretch, the rancher and that old swayback remember the colts they once were.
The sun will rise and the sun will set, while the rancher still works yet.
